Two recommendations letters are required: from a professor at your attended university; and, from someone familiar with your work experience, academics, activities, achievements, goals, etc.
All scholarship applications must have a minimum of twelve (12) undergraduate credit hours completed at the time of application, possess a cumulative GPA of 3.0, and be in good standing with the university. All scholarship recipients are required to successfully complete fifteen (15) credit hours per calendar year (includes fall, spring and/or summer sessions). Failure to enroll in school or to complete fifteen (15) credit hours per calendar year will terminate your Jim and Betty Dye NWI Non-Traditional Student Scholarship.
The scholarship award is for one-half (1/2) tuition per semester for undergraduate tuition only. Recipient will be responsible for the other one-half (1/2) tuition and other fees such as books, transportation, parking, health and activity fees. The university will bill the Foundation directly after the add/drop period of the semester and all refunds are paid back to the Foundation. If recipient has received or will be receiving other scholarships, the Jim and Betty Dye NWI Non-Traditional Student Scholarship will be revoked.
Receipt of applications is not a guarantee a scholarship will be awarded each semester. The number of scholarships awarded is based upon the number and quality of applications, current number of awards in progress, and budgeting requirements.
Scholarships are automatically renewable on a semester-to-semester basis. Recipients must maintain a 3.0 cumulative GPA on a 4.0 system and successfully complete an average of fifteen (15) credit hours per calendar year to maintain eligibility for their Scholarship. Provided all eligibility requirements are met, the scholarship will continue in effect until graduation or one hundred twenty (120) credit hours have been achieved, whichever occurs first.
Applications must be submitted to the Foundation’s Office by June 1 to be considered for the upcoming fall semester and by November 1 to be considered for the upcoming spring semester. Applications will not be considered for a summer semester start. Incomplete applications may be rejected.
